Nullschool Earth is a website created by Cameron Beccario (thanks!) that provides a visualisation of global weather conditions that are forecast by supercomputers and updated as often as possible, which is dependant on the many varied data sources. Feels like a great example of co-operation, so many different data sources coming together to paint this spectacular representation of “home”. I’ve always been a fan of displaying data well, and this is a heap of fun for anyone who loves weather. The simple interface allows you to switch between air, ocean, chemicals, particulates, space and biology. Each mode comes with different overlays to view a slew of varying data, most of which I had never heard of or knew existed. But you don’t need to be a weather nerd, I find the animated overlays quite beautiful. Some screen grabs below of varying overlays. Take a look for your self.
