The Iltis Ski Club at Mt Buller in my beautiful home state of Victoria, is a valued long term client. Recently their website received some much needed attention. A substantial upgrade is a great opportunity to update content, add new photography, revise copy and get the older layout put into a format that better suits current screen sizes and practices. The main request behind the upgrade was to improve the booking system. With quite a complicated pricing table, previously the booking dates and guests were collected and sent to the booking officer where the complex calculations were then handled manually.

The refreshed website now has a greatly improved booking system that gathers the names and status of all guests, and then calculates the total cost on the fly. The complex calculation handles Summer season, Winter high season, Winter low season, many different guest types (and differing rates for each) and also adheres to a few rules such as minimum booking of 2 nights during Winter if the first night is a Friday, as well as also handling bookings that straddle the New Years Eve Period. Booking summaries are both displayed on screen, and also emailed to the person making the booking, the booking officer and any required guests. More time for the booking officer to hit the slopes.
