Ageing involves noticing some things in a different light. Something about time. Having observed local Melbourne based photographer Cory White’s career from close quarters for over 20 years now, it really is a pleasure to see both the work evolve and also for the elements that initially struck me to have remained intact. So very bloody Australian, both “Corka” and his images conjure up thoughts of holidays, weekends, good times or places you’d rather be. Very raw and honest, a nod to timing and lighting, clearly with a touch of finesse. There also seems to be a blur or deliberate overlap between his personal and commissioned work, the ability to do so, both wise and admirable. Plenty more great images and projects can be seen at his website. Oz as mate.

Maybe it reminds of being a little boy, staring at cars and trucks from the back seat of the car.

Elementor. Sounds like someone you might meet in a Conan the Barbarian film, or even one of He-man’s mates.
